Runyaway Fitness has implemented our program ‘healthy home, healthy kids’ a health and fitness program at schools based on balancing a healthy lifestyle with physical activity on a daily basis.

A benefit of our program is that it is entirely free.

The program involves a few school gala days where we spend an hour with each year group as well as running a fitness boot camp session.

These selected days are what suit you best or simply could be on your school sports day.

We are able to run the program for free as we receive government and Medicare funds and the schools obtain 100% benefit from this.

The Gala day is fun and enjoyable for the children whilst obtaining the full benefits of health and fitness.

We also undertake a general health check of students that the teachers identify are at a high risk of experiencing any form of chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma or simple depressions.

Our staff are experienced and qualified in the areas of health and fitness.

Our experience includes having qualified exercise physiologists, personal trainers, dietitians and physiotherapists.

These one stop shops enables us to treat EVERY health and fitness need.

 School Program Sessions

The sessions will include 20-30 minutes of nutritional advice on the ‘don’t stop it, swap it!’ campaign given by the department of health.

This campaign explains how to make the correct choices of foods and snacks and not eliminating meals.

We will give examples of the food by displaying images on a projector.

Followed by 40-50 minutes of boot camp styles fitness exercises run by our qualified trainers.

Whilst the exercises are being conducted our exercise physiologist will run health assessments to include fitness testing and body fat analysis to the students individually.

Students that show to have poor results according to the norms given by the health associations will be spoken to and arrange for a meeting with the parents to help the child’s case.

In most cases we see children with asthma, diabetes, child hood obesity and self-conscious children with low self-esteem.

We than speak to the parents and see if they would like us to help create a healthier lifestyle to their children.
